My neighborhood had an event this week... National Night Out. We had lots of booths and food trucks and displays of various things. And even a live band! The organizer, Kristin, for whom I've photographed both her son and her two dogs, asked me if I wanted to participate in any way that I wanted. Well, why not? It's funny you can actually be well known nationally but invisible to your own neighbors so I jumped on the chance to introduce my pet photography to the 'hood.
Well, we decided to do -- what else? -- an ice cream social and my partner Vicki and I set up a photo booth.
I was taking ice cream photos of Tootsie when all of a sudden I was swatted by the Los Angeles Police Department... in the best possible way. In jumped Capt. Lil Carranza to pose with Tootsie. We had a lot of fun with the captain clowning around with her and feeding her the ice cream. The expressions were priceless. Always fun when something unexpected happens.
Thank you to the LAPD for being there and for Janet Pinneau's lovely and amenable dog Tootsie! And to Kristin Sales for making the event happen!
