AWARD-WINNING IMAGES

I started competing because I thought I was a pretty good pet photographer. Competition pointed out my flaws. It's humbling. I managed one significant award from the Professional Photographers of America in 2016, my first year competing, then had three flops in that same case of four images. But if you keep at it, you start to learn what makes a compelling image. And that knowledge is passed on to your images.

Because of image competition, I earned my Master of Photography degree through the Professional Photographers of America in 2021 and an Accredited Professional of Animal Imagery through AIM, Animal Image Makers, in 2021. Because of the depth of my knowledge about my craft, I earned PPA's Certified Professional Photographer designation in 2020.

As of 2023, I've racked up a few more awards and still entering a few competitions but I'm mostly concentrating on my client work. I'm so very grateful for all the skills and knowledge I've picked up from readying a print for competition level. It's not nothing! And you are the beneficiaries!
