Cheryl was one of my first pet photography clients here in L.A. I had shot her headshot before and knew she and her husband had a passel of animals -- three cats and two dogs, to be exact. I did portraits of their animals in June of last year and Ollie and Kitty became the subjects of two of the images I still use today to show my work. (As a reference, Ollie's portrait is of the back of his head while Kitty is the black and white portrait of a cat staring intently).
So I ran across some dog slippers not too long ago and one of them was a pair of Cavalier King Charles spaniels. I told Cheryl she ought to order them in honor of Fergie, her Cavalier King, and to my surprise she did! I told her we had to do a shoot before the slippers were too well-worn and this week we did. By the way, when Cheryl opened the box, she said Fergie acted like the slippers were real puppies. How cute is that?
Fergie is pretty mellow. She lies down at the drop of a hat. Girl likes to be comfy. We did a few different arrangements of Fergie and the slippers but this turned out to be my favorite photograph.
