More Composite Pet Photography
Ah, Leroy. I photographed Leroy at one of my Maxwell Dog Ice Cream Social Shoots last year. He was a handsome Frenchie indeed. So his dad got in touch with me for a holiday card shoot with possibly some holiday props. I've been so busy doing digital art this holiday season... you know, my Storytelling Sessions also known as composite photography... that I wasn't really doing straight up holiday shoots. I told him that, and pointed him to my Storytelling page and I said, you probably don't want that. Well, indeed he did and it was off to the races!
Leroy came from Kentucky. His dad wanted something Kentucky, something California, so I suggested Leroy driving on a country road and boom, there we were.
Now we ended up doing two of these. One, Jim is using for the holiday card so I don't want to spoil the surprise. But unbeknownst to Jim when I showed up at his door, Jim is in it too! He was only looking for a shoot with Leroy but I thought his reaction to Leroy driving would be worth the price of admission and that's what we ultimately did. And it was fun! Jim got to test out his acting chops with his reactions to Leroy. And because composite photography is a collaborative process, Jim got to pick the image of himself he wanted and quite a few of the details as well.
After I finished compositing that card, Jim suggested another one with the same setting of just Leroy. I thought it would be fun to have Leroy with a stack of suitcases with one of them open with his doggy stuff flying out. And that's the one you see here today.
I just want to show you what's possible with your imagination, collaboration and your dog! You are not limited by reality. If you want reality, I do reality, too. But I offer you something that's rare in pet photography in Los Angeles. Composite pet photography. Digital art. New worlds to explore. Hey, we're in Hollywood. Your pet can be a superstar, too.
