Where did this month go? Oh right... I spent eight days in London and just got back. Not to brag... but it was my first trip to the UK and was it ever spectacular. Gorgeous weather and never rained out.
I wanted to shoot a dog a day but it didn't quite work out that way. No, not paying clients, but more like street photography with the subjects dogs instead of people. But when your own dogs are barking... and by that I mean my feet were killing me after endless miles... it's kind of hard to get excited about looking for the right dogs at the right place. I would have loved some real Londony looking streetscapes or one of the beautiful parks -- and come to think about it, that's what I did end up shooting -- but it didn't quite end up meeting my expectations. I think I didn't try hard enough because, you know, feet pain.
But I did shoot a few with my new camera, my new Fujifilm X-T2. Avid readers of this blog will recall when I did my first dog shoot with my new X-T1 mirrorless camera. It turns out the Achilles heel of that nearly perfect camera system was how it focuses. Which is it doesn't focus fast. So I didn't use it much for pet photography and definitely not for paid pet photography shoots. But I love that camera so.
Fujifilm came out with the X-T2 the week before I left for London. I had pre-ordered it in July and got it just in the knick of time. And guess what? This one focuses much faster! It probably won't replace my Canon or Nikon... they are super fast... but I think it will be a nice camera to take with me to photograph dogs in the park when I'm on a walk or something.
Anyway, I did photograph a few dogs and I present them to you in black and white. Oh, I'm also going to throw in my Stonehenge photos because even though there isn't a dog in it, well, it's truly awesome.
On to October and let's see what that will bring!
