I had a super busy weekend shooting pets... Cedric, an African Gray parrot, and Tino and Izzy, a chihuahua and minpin/chihuahua/dachshund mix (they think; both are sweet rescue dogs) but one of the most unusual sites was a dog named Cash hanging out the window in the Arts District of Los Angeles.
If you haven't been to the Arts District, you owe yourself a visit. It's a gentrifying area near Little Tokyo that has incredible graffiti on several streets. We like to go to Wurst Kuche for gourmet sausages, frites and beer on tap and it's in the heart of the Arts District. Directly across the street is the Pie Hole. Yes, they make pie.
But although there are always people milling about, it doens't feel overcrowded like, say, Venice Beach, if you're looking for that urban gritty feel.
Before I post my shoot of Tino and Izzy, I've got to show you Cash. He perches on the window and overlooks the happenings on the street below. He blends in so well he almost looks like the building itself. I find him striking.
