I had the pleasure of meeting Yuki and Nuna, a pair of Shih Tzus. Did you know Shih Tzus are known as the chysanthemum dog? Me neither. And that they are more closely related to a wolf than many other dogs? They're an old breed and are a cross between a Pekingese and Lhasa Apso. Originally from Tibet, the breed was nearly wiped out during the British invasion of China with only seven males and seven females left. All Shih Tzus are descendants of those surviving 14 dogs. How's that for doing my research.
Yuki is an old man. He's been with his mom Carina for a long time. His age is starting to come through. He can't see very well. Or hear, for that matter. But he's charming nonetheless. Nuna is just 2 years old. Her dad Kelvin can toss a ball all. day. long. and she will not tire out. Super playful. And a bit territorial. We caught some good ones of airborne Nuna.
So how about a few images of Yuki and Nuna?
