I bought a doggy DNA test kit for my sister for mother's day. Denise's dog Lola is the love of her life. Lola is No. 1. Her husband is No. 2. Well, for sure, I can say Lola is No. 1.
Denise finally got around to swabbing some saliva from Lola and sent the test off. The surprising results are in.
First a little background. Lola was rescued from a puppy mill that bred Schnauzers. So we knew that was coming. Look at her beard. Lola was horribly ill and had never had her little paws touch the earth, she had always felt the bars of a cage.
Just last week while I was visiting, she speculated Lola had some Jack Russell terrier. That made sense. That dog never runs out of energy and is a bit jumpy, too.
But this is what no one saw coming. Lola is half Cocker Spaniel! Yes, half! So there's the Cocker Spaniel half, then a mix of Russell terrier and miniature Schnauzer on the other side. And her Wisdom Panel results only go back three generations so she has a mixed portion as well which they say the likelihood of her mixture comes from the Terrier Group, makes sense, and the Companion Group, which also makes sense.
So there you have it, my niece Lola had some surprising results. All we need is Maury Povich to tell us who's the daddy.
Oh, you want to see more Lola? Check out her video.
