I belong to a really interesting pet photographers group, one that includes the creme de la creme, the pioneers, the innovators, the teachers. I know, pinch me, I thank my lucky stars I'm in it, too!

We just did an exercise this week that was really interesting. We submitted five images to the curator, Barbara Breitsameter, the owner of Poppy Blue Photography near Chicago. From those keywords, she developed a spreadsheet that had a number of keywords on it along with all of the images we submitted. We were to go through the pet photography and choose from that list of keywords what our impression was of each one. The words were:

For the set of images I turned in, in my case all studio-style which I actually don't do that often but I liked how these came together, my words are: storytelling, humor, and contemporary.
