Thank you everyone for such a wonderful 2018! I am filled with gratitude over the number of dogs, cats, puppies, kittens and people I've gotten a chance to photograph this year! What a great year 2018 has been! I've had such a wild ride, it's kind of unbelievable! I'm pretty sure I've written about this hundreds of times but my Ice Cream Social for Dogs book, tentatively titled "Dogs Vs Ice Cream," will be published by Familius in July 2019, just in time for National Ice Cream Month. It's my first book and I'm excited out of my head about that. That was seven Ice Cream Socials for Dogs with just over 190 dogs photographed. It was super cute watching the owners react with their pets. Hey, if anyone want to host a social for their dog-friendly offices or for fundraising, let me know, I'm totally up for it.
I've done more composites than ever, which was so much fun. Check out The Secret World of Pets for the latest.
And I'm working on a stunning new project that is as dark as my ice cream images are light and bright. So that has been really quite interesting and challenging. I haven't introduced this concept yet because I'm keeping it close to the vest until I hit critical mass, that this theme and images would be recognized as my work. I've got the domain name and I'm going to build a separate website for it in 2019 so stay tuned for that. Just like my composites are introduced here but have their own website, so will my next project. So far, I've photographed six proof of concept shoots for this series and I've been asking some of my clients if they would like to participate so contact me if you'd like to participate. The shoot is complimentary but it does require both the owner and the dog and a few other mandatory guidelines.
I also bought a domain for the Ice Cream Socials as well so near July, I will let that one loose on the world.
In April, I went on safari in Kenya and then to Madagascar to see lemurs. It really was the trip of a lifetime. I had Toto's "Africa" and the theme from "Jurassic Park" as ear worms the entire time. Most of those images were published on my Facebook page so I hope you got a chance to see them. In early 2019, we're off to China so that should be interesting... and very cold.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention! Brianne Cohen, a sommelier friend of mine, and I are going to do a photography for dogs day and wine tasting event that I think we're calling "Day of Whine and Rosés." If you want to get on a list for that, let me know. I'll be letting you know about that through my newsletter if you're on that. You can subscribe by going to my website under Information and then Newsletter SignUp. It's how I let you know about what's going on with my pet photography events.
And one more thing... sheesh, I should just write my newsletter. I'll be photographing the Dig Launch L.A. event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on January 31 at WeWork, 555 West 5th Street in downtown. It's free, you can bring your well-behaved dogs. Get all the details and your tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/dig-los-angeles-launch-tickets-53555694524
OK, everyone, great catching up with you and I hope to see you in 2019. If you have a moment, give me a call or shoot me and email and let me know how you're doing and how you're pets are doing. I'd love to hear about you!
Let's have a great year everyone, shall we? Thank you again!
