I got the inquiry from my potential client about photographing her and her husband's sweet puppy before she gets too much older. A black and white Cocker Spaniel mix. And at some point in the future, she'd probably want to have the two cats photographed as well. (Sound of record screeching!) Wait, we can do the cats at the same time! It will save you money! And thus began the shoot of Piper, the puppy, and the two cats, Monkey and Cooper.
And how we did it? Remember the new backdrops and the Vanity Fair style shoot? Yep, that's exactly what we did with the industrial stool.
Now Monkey came with a warning. Maybe a little too shy. He was hanging out in the "catio" when I arrived. So we photographed Piper, who has the body of a Dachshund, the face of a Cocker Spaniel, and the coloring of a Dalmatian. She was so tiny, I was really surprised! And what a little champ she was. She gave good face.
Next was Cooper. Now Cooper, Cooper was the superstar. She could have posed all day long. The thing is with a cat, you can't ever be sure what you're going to get. They may be very social or they may hide under the bed the whole time -- or the catio. But Cooper just did it. She was amazing.
But the surprising one had to be Monkey. Because when it was his turn, he did it. Of course, by this time, Cooper didn't want to leave the stage so I had to remove her photobombing tail from almost all of Monkey's images.
In the information part of my website, I tell you how I can show you what a collection will look like on your own walls. These two images show the triptych on two different walls in two different configurations. Because my client hadn't yet picked her images yet, I just inserted images that would work together in this kind of arrangement. These are on her actual walls with identifying items cropped out. And by calibrating the wall with a plain piece of paper, we are able to scale it to the exact sizes that will look good. Not too big, not too small.
Anyway, I present to you Piper, Cooper and Monkey. What a delightful trio!
