I love the Vizslas of Encino. I met them last April for their first Southern California photo shoot. Their mom, Svenja, asked me to accompany her to one of the local beaches. Of course! What's the catch, you ask? Svenja likes to go at dawn because the dog beach she likes is an hour away. She loves the pastel morning light. Groan. And then I went with the Vizslas to the same beach about a month later, only this time at sunset. That was my choice, heh-heh. I made this video, Sunset with the Vizslas of Encino. And really, the golden hour paid off. Those red Hungarian hunting dogs were on fire with the warm hues.
This morning, 6:05 a.m., we headed off again. We went to the same beach -- and I am sworn to secrecy here because it is virtually deserted and Svenja and the few other people there likely want to keep it that way. I can say it involves dunes but other than that my lips are sealed.
Vizslas are energetic dogs. Oh sure, they'll tire, but give them about an hour to rest and they'll be tearing it up again.
Lazslo, Bruya and Csilla are gorgeous dogs. And they have the sweetest disposition. Since I've spent so much time with them over these three shoots, they've gotten to know me and it's really fun.
They first went through the dunes, trying to ferret out bunnies and mice and all those kinds of things Hungarian hunting dogs like.
Then they bounded over the dunes toward the ocean. But we've had some hurricane remnants churn up the water around here and Svenja was concerned that the water may be too rough with undertows and rip currents so we headed to the harbor where there is a dog beach that's not quite so deserted. Bruya managed to find a dead bird and rolled her face in it. The first time I went out with them Lazslo caught a fish and the second time he nearly caught a sailboat. They really like to chase things.
Svenja threw a couple of buoys. Bruya's the swimmer. Lazslo and Csilla love to run but Bruya is the first in the water.
Today I shot more video than photographs but I still had a good combination of both. I put together another cute little video of them. I can do the same for you and your dog. Truly I can. I'm Diana Lundin and I'm a Los Angeles pet photographer. You can reach me at 818.481.5214 and I can make you a video!
